Oops!  A wind storm whipped through and took a tree down.  It narrowly missed two of our cars!!  Yikes!

Garden photos from June/July 2013

Some beautiful blue delphinium (two shades of blue), elderflower, milkweed (monarch butterflies ONLY eat milkweed), and some white foxglove.

Also check out the 'curb of thyme'.  Thyme makes a great buffer between the street and the rest of the garden.  It grows thick to keep weeds down, holds the mulch in place during flooding events, is very drought tolerant once established, and it's edible!

We added the conservatory because we love growing things.  Tropical plants don't generally grow in Wisconsin...  Something about the weather.  ;)
But now we're growing a large collection of orchids, 5 enormous pineapples, 2 papaya trees, an avacado and lemon tree.
Outside, the garden is growing as well.  We've planted lavender and some annuals around the conservatory skirt.

Winter photos are from Dec/Jan 2012-2013
The outside photo is from Jun 24th 2013

Dryer is finally Installed!!  After purchasing the dryer on sale about 2 years ago (and it sitting in the office all this time). Last Sunday it was finally installed and working! Yay!

In the spring, S&R remodelling added the roof vent , some ducting and the gas line from the basement up to the location on the 2nd floor. S decided he wanted a different kind of ducting so he spent last Saturday working on it (after a trip to Menards of course). He also added an extension to the gas pipe so it would reach the dryer on top of the washer. By the afternoon on Sunday, eveything was connected and ready for testing. Washed and dried our winter coats .. and.. success! We have a working gas dryer!!! Just a bit of trimwork to go, but that goes for the whole hallway.
